 Leadership Role in Mental health support



Mental health is defined by WHO as the mental wellbeing of people all around the world without feeling stressed and cope with others collaboratively while contributing to the community standards. Everyday people have to gone through thousands of emotions and psychological aspects in their life due to their lifestyle. People are stressed and bored with their work though they need a support to recover themselves soon to cope with the outside people in a friendlier and supportive way.

In order to overcome daily busy schedules of people with more pleasant and calming environment, people need mental health support by various means though it is the integral part of human life. Mental health support is simply the guidance of assistance given by various people or authorities to people with damaged mental health issues.

There are numerous advantages of mental health support as it is a necessity in the modern day world. It can directly or indirectly enhance the mental wellbeing of people while improving their quality of life. It paves the way for a mentally relaxed and satisfying mentality of people. Mentally stable people are more focused and concentrated on their work thus increase the quality of life with strong and long lasting relationships. (Chinman et al.,2006) Mental health support can reduce the risk of being depressed or bored with work load and work environment while helping people to reduce conflicts among closed people. (Griffin et al.,2006) It increased the productivity of people too.



When promoting mental health support within workplace, organizations, schools, universities or any other community, leadership role is the most important part of it. (Corrigan and McCracken,1998) Leaders are more responsible towards the supporting systems and provide necessary resources and services to people as they act as the responsible personalities during the safeguarding of mental health of people. (Avolio and Bass,1995) It is better to have a leadership role when implementing the relevant supportive systems as it can lead to a better work life balance and workload balance. Having a responsible person to work with the mental health is rewarding though they can build strong and necessary networking system while mentoring and evaluating the growth and progress continuously.





Leadership role plays a crucial part in the metal health support in people as they are responsible to make the supporting system with more awareness and strategical way. (Bass,1985) As well as they develop the relevant policies with their experiences and act as role models to people with great support. They help to increase moral values of people towards mental health support.
