Balancing Workload and Mental Health
With the emergence of people with busy
schedules, workload for each person increases not only at their workplace but
also in their home. So, it causes a great impact on physical and mental
wellbeing of people. Balancing workload plays a vital role in having a more
stable mental wellbeing. It is quite a challenge to balance both their family
work and employment work together in this busy schedule of life. (Jordan et
al.,2004)
There are many advantages of having a
balanced work load. Work load balancing is the sharing of all the relevant
tasks and responsibilities among all the respected person where they could
achieve that tasks in a stress freeway. It is not an individual task; it is a
collective effort of all the people in order to achieve their major goals.
Simply, it is the employee perception to personal time, family time and work
time collectively with a minimum conflict. (Guo and Zhu,2023) So policy makers
are focusing more on this issue and implemented new strategies to enhance more
balanced and mentally healthy lifestyle for people.
In order to promote balancing work load,
there are various types of initiatives or implementations done. Job sharing, shift basis or Flexible work hour arrangements and family leave are some of the
major initiatives which help to increase the mental wellbeing of employee while
having a quality life. (Haar et al.,2014)
There are many strategies one can use to
have a Balancing work load. Task prioritizing and implementing achievable
tasks, flexible and equal task sharing, using latest technologies to prevent
overloading of work, proper guidance with a great leadership management and
supportive, healthy workplace are some of the strategies which can balance work
load. (Wilson,2021).png)
Balancing work load plays a vital role in
efficiency and productivity of people though it helps people to achieve what
they need. Employees are happy and well satisfied with the workplace if they
could balance the work load and it directly affects for the mental health of
employee. (Sharma,2023) So, the efficiency and productivity increases
proportionately. People are satisfied and reduce the turnover though they are
mentally healthy. (Wang et al.,2022) If so. employee engagement increases and
they focus on their work load.
(Sinek, 2021)
Hence, a workplace with balanced and equitable
work load always paves the way for happy and satisfied employee. With all these
strategies and practices, it helps to achieve job satisfaction which enhance
the mental wellbeing of people.
